kids, find an adult and bring them to the trail to experience this great sport. Adults, bring some kids for
some fun bonding opportunities!

Greetings to all MetroSouth members of the MMBA. Spring is just around the corner and biking season is almost upon us.  For 2009 we, the chapter board, have set as a goal increased communication to our members.  As such, you’ll be receiving the occasional email about upcoming activities and volunteer opportunities. We look forward to any comments or feedback you may have on how we can make our chapter better.

Obviously, the next big thing that is coming up will be the Annual Meeting in Lansing on the 22nd(next weekend).  See http://www.mmba.org/annual-meeting for more info.  Our chapter will have a booth and the chapter trailer and are looking for some assistance in staffing it with volunteers.  Setup is from 8am-10am and we would like to have people cover the booth in hour increments from 10am-4pm.  Please reply ASAP to reserve your time at the booth.

We are interested in putting together a list of people interested in volunteering during the year.  Volunteer opportunities can be Trail days, cooking at traildays or events, Park Liaisons, event coordinators, etc.  If you are interested in helping out, please email metrosouth@mmba.org for more info.

Lastly, after the Annual Meeting we will be sending out a survey to identify the areas our chapter membership would  like see addressed as well as putting together an inventory of the skills our members have to share.

First off, as you can see, the website has a new look.  The migration of the MMBA website has begun and it starts with the Chapter specific sites.  Any suggestions, questions, or comments can be sent to metrosouth AT mmba.org.

Second, we had our final meeting of the year on December 1st, the minutes are now up on the Library page.  The biggest news is that we have a new Board for 2009.

The Metro South Chapter meeting will be held Monday December 1st at Station 885 in Plymouth. The start time of the meeeting will be 7:30pm but if you want food please arrive at 7 to order.

The main focus of this meeting will be the election of the Metro South Chapter board members. To attend this meeting you do not have to be an MMBA member but to vote you MUST be. This is your chance to choose who you want to represent you, so please make every effort to attend and use your vote. If you’re not a member please take a moment and join.

It’s been a while since the Metro South website has been updated.  This is primarily due to some of the issues the MMBA site itself has had since the migration to new servers.  In February, we’re due to be moved to a completely different system with an all new look.  In the meantime, we’ll be using wordpress as our chapter’s online home.
